The next iteration of the Mac operating system, OS X 10.9, will apparently be kitted out with a Mac version of Siri as well as built in Apple Maps functionality, according to a new rumor from 9to5Mac. The site suggests that some early builds of OS X 10.9 have Siri integrated into the OS although the report is careful to point out that it may not make it into later builds of the software. Voice dictation has been available on the Mac for some time now, ever since 10.8 Mountain Lion was released, with voice dictation baked in, but with Siri, your Mac would start talking back.
The first glimpse of OS X 10.9 was seen a few weeks back when several sites starting showing reporting increased incidences of Macs running OS X 10.9 showing up in their analytics. Apple has not yet released any details about the next gen operating system, but Apple will likely offer a preview or two of the new OS at some point next year.
