Rumor: Next Generation iPad Mini Will Be Significantly Lighter And Thinner

The information is apparently coming from unnamed sources in the Apple supply chain, but it is questionable as to whether this would actually be possible with current technology while improving on the processing power, and retaining the bright Retina Display and 10 hour battery life of the current generation iPad mini. New Macs With Intel Broadwell Processors Won’t Arrive Until 2015

iMac 2014
A new report has shed some light on the availability of next generation chips set to be released by Intel, codenamed Broadwell. According to Chinese VR Zone, production of the new 14nm chips will not start until much later this year and thus the chips themselves will not be made available for Mac devices until early-2015 at the very earliest. According to the leak, the mobile chips used in MacBook devices will be among the first available, followed by the Broadwell H chips which would be used in the iMac and 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro later in the year.

The reason for the delay in the release is apparently issues with the 14 nanometer process that is used in the chips. It is not clear, however, if Apple would continue to go ahead with their release of brand new Mac devices with inferior processors, or whether they would delay release of the new devices while waiting for the chips to be made available.
