Rumor: First Pictures Of The Rear Panel Of The iPad Mini 2

Following on from a report which leaked pictures of the purported next generation iPad 5, some images of the rear panel of what is claimed to be the next generation iPad mini 2 have today appeared. The report comes from site FanaticFone.com, which is the same website that managed to obtain pictures of the rear panel of the iPad 5 yesterday. The picture appears to show an iPad mini rear panel with a slightly different logo imprinting but with generally identical shape and apparent dimensions as the current generation iPad mini.

Rumor: More ‘iPhone 5C’ And ‘iPhone Mini’ Cases Appear

Following on from the discovery this week that a case manufacturer was already advertising cases for the long-rumored low cost ‘iPhone 5C’, another manufacturer has now jumped on the bandwagon and is advertising cases for an ‘iPhone 5C / iPhone Mini’. The cases are produced by South Korean case company Spigen who are selling the cases on Amazon.com. Interestingly, the cases are not available on the company’s own website, perhaps suggesting that these new cases are not of entirely reliable sourcing.

Rumor: New MacBook Pro Models To Be Equipped With Crazy Powerful Processors

The new version of the MacBook Pro, expected to launch later this year, will be equipped with a special high-performance Haswell processors, specially constructed for Apple’s devices. According to a report from SemiAccurate, the company has requested specially constructed top-of-the-range Haswell processors with integrated Iris Pro 5200 graphics chips, likely for powering the Retina Display feature of the devices.

iPhone Activation Process Having Issues

Some users who are attempting activate an iPhone for the first time are having issues with the process due to problems with Apple’s iPhone activation servers. According to a new report from MacRumors, many users who are attempting to connect to the activation servers are receiving an error message stating that the ‘activation server is temporarily unavailable‘ and are advised to try again later. An AT&T employee has also apparently confirmed the issues.

Rumor: iPhone 5 To Get Discontinued Upon iPhone 5S Launch

A new report is suggesting that Apple will be discontinuing production of the iPhone 5 once the iPhone 5S has launched later this year. According to Korean news site, ETNews, Apple will focus all production elements on producing components and assembling the iPhone 5S. The new and long-rumored plastic iPhone is also thought to be launching in the same time period and is also expected to take the place of the iPhone 5.

There is no word on the sources of the information regarding this report, and it would not be unusual to doubt the authenticity. Apple has traditionally had at least three models of the iPhone on sale at any one time. In the case of the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4 have remained on sale at varying price points to cover all markets. However, with the launch of a plastic iPhone, ETNews is suggesting that there would be no need for the iPhone 5.

Rumor: New Photos Of iPhone 5S Being Manufactured Appear

Several new images which are claimed to be of the iPhone 5S on the production line have appeared, lending support to recent claims that the iPhone 5S is headed for a Fall 2013 launch. According to the report from expreview.com (via 9to5Mac), the production of the iPhone 5S is in full swing and they have even published photographs of the device wrapped in plastic at an interim stage on the production line. The report also suggests that the iPhone 5S will have a fingerprint sensor underneath the Home button, as well as NFC capabilities, a feature which was initially rumored to be included in the iPhone 5.

Rumor: Upgraded iPad Mini Arriving This Year

A new report is suggesting that the second generation iPad mini will be launched by Apple in the second half of this year, with upgraded specifications and a slightly lighter form factor. According to Digitimes, the company has been working on upgrading the specifications of the iPad mini and the upgraded version will apparently be lighter and thinner. In addition, the report suggests that an iPad mini with Retina Display will be launched in 2014, with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 in a 7.9 inch screen, and that it will be redesigned with an ‘almost bezel free look’.

The report also goes on to suggest that the next generation full size iPad will contain ‘thin film touch screen technology’ that will translate to a weight reduction of between 20-30% compared to current generation models (whether that is the weight of just the screen or the entire device is unclear). The new design of iPad will also feature a slimmer bezel.

Rumor: Benchmarks For Unreleased 15 Inch MacBook Pro With Haswell Processor Spotted

Benchmarks for an as yet unreleased MacBook Pro have apparently been spotted on the the Geekbench website earlier today, sparking speculation that Apple could be preparing to release a new model of the MacBook Pro soon (via MacRumors). The benchmarks point towards a 15 inch MacBook Pro with the model code of ‘AAPLJ45,1′ but it is not clear if this is a Retina Display model or a new base MacBook Pro model.

The new model has been classed as having the latest generation of Intel Haswell processors and also has 16GB RAM. The device has similar performance characteristics to the previous generation, but may be engineered to offer substantial battery life, as was the focus with Apple’s latest release of the MacBook Air series.

Rumor: Cool New Picture Of Upcoming Low Cost iPhone

A new report has today revealed a new picture of what appears to be an unreleased model of the iPhone, strongly suspected to be the long rumored low cost iPhone. The report comes from Nowhereelse.fr who have published an image of the rear panels of the new iPhone, showing a variety of colors of the new device. The colors shown are red, yellow, white, blue and green, and the rear panel seem to be made of plastic or polycarbonate as has been rumored in the past.

Rumor: Photos Appear Of iPhone 5S Being Manufactured

Some new pictures of what are reportedly components for the iPhone 5S in the production line have been posted today by Chinese site GforGames (via MacRumors). The photos apparently show the display assembly for the iPhone 5S, identifiable through dual cable connectors on either side of the display itself. This is distinct from the display assembly from the iPhone 5 which has the same connectors on the same side.
