A new report is today suggesting that Apple will be unveiling a brand new model of the Apple TV in April of this year. The report comes from Bloomberg who claim that the company will be taking the wraps off the new Apple TV set top box, but will not begin selling the new model for several months. Instead, the new device would apparently be made available in time for the Christmas holidays, although this is subject to change.
Aside from the launch of the new device, the report also claims that the new Apple TV will have a substantially different user interface and a faster processor. Apparently Apple has been in talks with several cable providers, including Time Warner, in order to source broadcasting material for the Apple TV.
The report comes hot on the heels of another report this week which identified an unreleased version of the Apple TV (AppleTV4,1) in the code for the iOS 7 operating system which is used by the Apple TV.
