Apple has today issued invitations for a media event on October 22 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The event, set to begin at 10am PST, is widely expected to be the launch event for the new generation of iPad devices as well as the new Mac line-up (via AllThingsD). The invitations for the event use the tagline “We still have a lot to cover”, and the company will likely be using the event to launch the new iPad 5 and Retina Display-enabled iPad mini 2.
In addition to the new iPads, Apple is also expected to launch the brand new Mac Pro and upgrade the MacBook Pro line-up with latest generation Intel Haswell processors that offer staggering improvements in battery life. Apple is also expected to publicly launch the OS X 10.9 Mavericks operating system for Mac.
While many rumors have swirled surrounding the new iPad devices, the new iPad 5 will have a significant redesign that takes influences from the design of the iPad mini, and will be equipped with a new 64-bit A7 processor.
