Following on from several rumors suggesting that Apple would be branching out in the next generation of iPhone devices in terms of multiple color options, a new report today has apparently confirmed that Apple will be offering the iPhone 5S in gold. The report comes from AllThingsD who are saying that their sources have confirmed that, in addition to the traditional white and black offerings, the iPhone will be offered in a champagne-like coloring on the back panel and on the chamfered edges.
In addition to this report, a separate report from 9to5Mac has also apparently confirmed the possibility of a gold iPhone. This report elaborates slightly by saying that the front face of the iPhone will have a white panel, so that device will not be available in black and gold. The report also confirms the ‘champagne like’ color scheme.
The new reports don’t refer to the iPhone 5C which has also been suggested to be launching in a wide range of colors, more expansive than the white, gold and black offerings of the iPhone 5S. The launch event for both devices is expected to take place on September 10.
