Apple is recruiting for a new Apple retail store which has been rumored to be the first store opening in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. The company has today posted a significant number of retail positions for an Edinburgh retail location, despite Edinburgh not currently having an Apple Store. Given recent rumors surrounding the launch of such a store, it’s not entirely unexpected that the company has now begun the recruiting process for staff.
The store, expected to be opened on Princes Street in Edinburgh is expected to open by the end of the year and is said to be massive, with two levels spanning 9000 square feet and another 8,500 square feet of background storage. ifoapplestore.com posted some background information, including planning documents, on the store itself earlier this year. Notably, the store has not been confirmed either by Apple itself or by the architects, MPA Architects, involved in the project, but the plans clearly show an Apple-style store.
As stated, there is no word on when the store would potentially open, but anecdotal information has suggested that Apple starts recruiting for a new store around 6 months prior to opening. Currently, the only other Apple Stores in Scotland are located in Glasgow and Aberdeen.
