Following on from the recent news that Apple would be discontinuing sales of the Mac Pro in Europe on March 1, 2013, a French reseller is claiming that Apple has indicated that a new Mac Pro would be released in the Spring of this year (via mac4ever and macg.co). According to the report, French Apple reseller France Systemes has sent a newsletter to customers which says that Apple has stated that the Mac Pro will cease selling on March 1 2013. The interesting part is that the letter says that Apple has informed the reseller that a new Mac Pro will be released in Spring 2013.
It is currently unclear whether, if the report is accurate, the new Mac Pro that Apple is referring to is simply an updated version of the current Mac Pro that complies with the power and fan blade requirements of the IEC regulations, or whether it is an entirely new model. Apple CEO Tim Cook has, in the past, suggested that the Mac Pro will receive an upgrade in 2013, although again it is unclear if this would be a processor and feature upgrade or an entirely new line.
