Apple Releases iOS 6.1.1 Beta To Developers

iOS 6
The first beta of the next update to iOS 6 has been released to Developers in the form of iOS 6.1.1 (via 9to5Mac) for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The beta software, only seeded to registered members of the Apple Development Program, follows the recent public release of iOS 6.1 which featured the ability to purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri, increased LTE support, and improvements to iTunes Match.

The update also comes hot on the heels of the release of the jailbreak known as Evasi0n, although it’s not clear yet whether the iOS 6.1.1 update contains any fixes for the exploit that Evasi0n uses to complete the jailbreak. The report does state, however, that the new beta contains significant improvements to Maps in Japan.
