Rumor: Apple Preparing To Launch 128GB iPad

New iPad

Following on from the discovery that the unreleased operating system update, iOS 6.1, contains references to Apple mobile devices with 128GB storage, a new report has emerged which could offer more clarity on which iOS devices could receive the storage bump. According to 9to5Mac, sources have suggested that Apple is working on an extra model of the full size fourth generation Retina Display iPad with 128GB storage. The extra model will apparently complement the existing 9.7 inch iPad line-up but will offer the expanded storage.

There are no details offered on when such a new model would be released but the report has managed to confirm that it will be offered both in black and white, in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + cellular models and will be offered to educational institutions in packs of 10 with discount. The site also is careful to suggest that this storage bumped model will only apply to the full size Retina Display iPad, and not the iPad mini.

Well Packed…
