Apple has today released the first major update to iOS 6 in the form of iOS 6.1, bringing with it a substantial number of improvements and bug fixes. The update includes support for an extended number of LTE compatible carriers, of which a full list can be found here. Additionally, users can now use Fandango to purchase movie tickets with Siri, although this service is only available in the US.
Other updates include the ability to download individual songs from iCloud if subscribed to iTunes Match, and a new button to reset the Advertising Identifier, the extended privacy option related to a temporary device identifier for advertising purposes.
The update comes just two days after Apple released what was termed iOS 6.1 beta 5 to registered members of the iOS Developer program. The public version of the update is available free of charge through iTunes or as an over-the-air update. An Apple press release regarding the update can be found here.
