One of the key new features that was focused on at the launch event of the iPhone 5 yesterday, was the upgraded camera that was built into the new device. Apple has today posted a new page on their website which showcases some photos that were actually taken using the camera on the iPhone 5… and they are absolutely beautiful.
As described in the iPhone 5 highlight video, the camera on the new iPhone 5 has the same sensor size (8 megapixels) as the iPhone 4S but has a number of improvements which are designed to enhance the images taken with the device. Among these improvements is that the camera utilizes a sapphire crystal lens. The camera itself offers improved performance in low-light conditions, and utilizing the iPhone 5 software and hardware gyroscope, can create panoramic photographs of up to 28 megapixels.
The camera app on the iPhone 5 is also able to take pictures 40% faster than before, and also has improved noise reduction to enhance the quality of the images. Obviously any images will also look great on the Retina Display.
