Following a period of downtime last night, Apple has added some new functionality to their online stores in the United Kingdom, as well as Germany and Spain. The new option allows users to speak to an Apple specialist when they are shopping for a new iPad or iPhone (via Pocket-lint). Users can also get questions answered via a personalized, online guided tour or by phone. The new service includes a guided tour where users can watch the screen of an Apple Specialist as they guide the new user through apps and other online resources.
Once the purchase of a new device is made, however, the Specialist can also schedule a free online session to set up the device and personalize email and apps. The service itself has been trialled in Brazil for some months now, but it seems that Apple is now rolling it out across multiple countries as of this week.
