A new photo has emerged from French site nowhereelse.fr which appears to show a couple of interesting new features about the upcoming iPhone 5. The photo, shown above, appears to show the bottom of a new iPhone with a revised smaller dock connector which has been suggested on multiple occasions. However, this new photo interestingly shows a metal ring inside the dock connector which looks suspiciously like it could be a magnet for a MagSafe like connector.
If the photo is indeed genuine and the ring of metal is indeed a magnet, then it would satisfy the numerous calls for a MagSafe connector on iOS devices, as opposed to the current dock connector which requires a little effort to get in and out. In addition to this, the picture appears to show a new device which is in fact wider than the existing iPhone models, which is not consistent with previous suggestions that the new iPhone would in fact retain the same horizontal dimensions.
As to the veracity of the photo, there is certainly nothing untoward which suggests that it could be fake, but nowhereelse.fr also recently posted photos of what appeared to be the SIM card tray for the new device as well, so they may have an authentic leak.
