A new report had come forward suggesting that the iPhone 5 is not quite at the production stage but, rather is still in final testing phase. According to sources speaking to BGR, the iPhone 5 is still in the Engineering Verification Testing (EVT) phase, which is still the stage before the Design Verification Test (DVT) stage. The report also claims that the new iPhone 5 will have 1 GB of RAM as well as 4G LTE capabilities and NFC compatibility.
The information supplied is consistent with previous rumors to a degree, in that the new device is expected to have LTE capability as well as NFC functionality. However, if this rumor was true, this would mean that it would be unlikely for the iPhone 5 to arrive in September as has been reported in the past. That said, BGR has a very patchy record with Apple product rumors in the past, so it may not be accurate.
