The next version of the iOS operating system for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is getting closer to release, as Apple today released iOS 6 beta 3 to developers. This beta 3 version has been released less than one month than thre previous version, beta 2, and has been released with several changes (detailed by MacRumors). The changes include significant new features that have been added to the Maps app, Safari and iCloud.
There has been no firm release date given for iOS 6 but Apple has suggested that the new OS will be released to the public this fall, likely in a free of charge update for everyone with a compatible iOS device. As before, the developer previews of iOS 6 are only available to registered members of Apple Developer program and still contain many bugs and issues which can result in instability.
With the new iPhone 5 expected to be released in September / October time, it’s likely we’ll see iOS 6 the very same day.
