A new report has emerged suggesting that the next generation iPhone 5 has gone into production and assembly right now (via Macotakara). The report says that Chinese sources have revealed that the device is now in production and that some cases that have already been leaked are accurate. According to the sources, the new device will also have a partial ‘aluminum surface’ as well as glass covered portions, consistent with some of the rumors we have seen so far.
Should the information prove to be accurate, then rumors of a September or October launch of the device could be accurate. The report is also suggesting that a small hole between the camera and flash has disappeared on the latest versions that the source has seen. It’s not clear what this hole was for but may be simply have been a prototype artifact.
