Tweetbot For Mac Now Available As Free Public Alpha

Tapbots, the developers behind the highly successful Tweetbot for iOS have just released a highly anticipated and, until now rumored, version of Tweetbot for the Mac. The app is available as a free download from the Tapbots website as it is in public alpha stage at the moment and not ready for full release on the Mac App Store. You can download it here.

As the app is only in alpha stage at the moment, you can expect a significant number of bugs and/or stability issues but given how awesome Tweetbot is for iOS devices, we’d highly recommend a download. There are also a few features, such as multiple windows, missing at the moment and there will be no support if any issue does crop up, although the team at Tapbots would surely appreciate feedback. There is also no iCloud or Notification Center support in the current version but no doubt that will come in time.

The alpha version of Tweetbot for Mac notably only supports OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.8 Mountain Lion, but the final App Store version will only support Mountain Lion. This means that, if you are on 10.6 Snow Leopard, you’ll likely miss out on the alpha fun.

You can download it right here right now.
