Following on from multiple yes/no rumors last year about T-Mobile USA carrying the iPhone, a new report from Bloomberg is suggesting that the carrier could finally be getting the iPhone next year. According to Sanford C. Bernstein analyst, Craig Moffett, it is now increasingly likely that the carrier, or parent company Deutsche Telekom, will be striking a deal to bring the iPhone to T-Mobile in the US. The carrier is putting $1.4 billion into upgrading its network in the US and is starting to bring the network into full compatibility with the current generation iPhone.
Many had hoped that if the AT&T / T-Mobile merger had gone through, that the iPhone would finally appear on the carrier, but this also did not happen. Certainly, Deutsche Telekom has been offering the iPhone for some time now in Europe, but the T-Mobile network in the US has apparently limited the carrier launching the iPhone in the States.
One can only live in hope.
