Following on from the iPad naming saga in China, Apple has today officially announced that the new, Retina Display iPad will go on sale to the public in China on Friday July 20, 2012. According to the Apple press release, the pricing of the new iPad will remain consistent with those found in the US i.e. $499 USD for the 16GB Wi-Fi model. Consumers looking to get hold of a new iPad will be able to find one through either the Apple Online Store, or by making a reservation at an Apple Retail Store. In addition, the new iPad will be available through Apple Authorized Resellers.
Apple has also stated that reservation requests will be accepted daily in Apple Stores from 9am until 12pm for pick up the following day, and that this service will commence on Thursday July 19, a day in advance of the launch.
