A new report from 9to5Mac is suggesting that Twitter for iOS devices will be on the receiving end of a large update very soon. According to the iOS App Store, Twitter version 4.3 will being a large number of new features related to interactivity and notifications. One of the primary new features is that much more information, like images and videos, will actually be held and displayed inside tweets. This is a feature that appears in some third party Twitter clients but the official Twitter app for iOS has thus far excluded it. Now it appears as if they will be integrating it into the next version of the software.
Other improvements include auto-complete suggestions for search, which will be a fantastic addition and make it much easier to find the Twitter handle of the person that you are looking for. This is a feature that has recently been introduced to Twitter.com. Additionally, there will be new notification settings that offer Push notifications, as well as non-interruptive notifications in the status bar. There will also be more support for trending tweets and curated Twitter accounts, as well as bug fixes and stability improvements.
There is no word on when the update will actually hit the App Store but hopefully it will be a matter of days rather than weeks.
