Apple has released the GM, or Gold Master, build of Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion to registered members of its Developer Program (via 9to5Mac). The release comes as the company prepares for full deployment of Mountain Lion to the public in the coming weeks via the Mac App Store. As before, this seed is only for registered developers, but the public will get their hands on the new OS in a very short time.
The seeding of the Gold Master (GM) build of the next generation of Mac OS means that the new software is finally ready for public consumption. The GM seed is the same version of the software that will be released to the public through the Mac App Store. Mountain Lion has been confirmed by Apple to be released by the end of July at a price of $19.99 but no date has yet been confirmed. However, July the 24th has been rumored to be the date that it will appear on the Mac App Store.
The new OS brings more than 200 awesome new features to the Mac, so get ready!
