In some news that will send some Twitter and Mac users into realms of ecstasy, the excellent Twitter client Tweetbot will be arriving on the Mac. Tweetbot is a Twitter client which has attained a significant amount of success on the iPhone and iPad and, according to a tweet from Tapbots dev Mark Jardine, could soon be hitting the Mac (via MacRumors). While no official announcement has been made, Jardine posted a picture on his Twitter account which appears to show a Mac version of Tweetbot running on a new Retina Display MacBook Pro.
The Tweetbot client on iOS devices has received some acclaim, with a well designed interface that is a significant improvement over the standard Twitter client. While the screenshot doesn’t give too much detail, it does look like the Tweetbot Mac client looks pretty similar to the one found on iOS devices. To say that I’m one of the ones who is happy at this news is an understatement, and the Mac release can’t come soon enough.
