As expected, a new jailbreak for Apple devices running iOS 5 has been released. The jailbreak, developed by Chronic Dev Team and Pod2g, is Absinthe 2.0 and allows users to jailbreak all of their iOS devices running iOS 5.1.1. The only device that isn’t supported is the Apple TV 3. The jailbreak is a full untethered jailbreak and is available now from the Chronic Dev Team website. There are versions that are compatible with OS X, Windows systems and Linux.
The servers upon which the jailbreak is stored will probably be under heavy load over the next few days and there are early reports that some people are unable to download the software. This will likely resolve as the initial rush fades away.
