Best Buy has just dropped $100 of the price of the existing models of the MacBook Pro. As spotted by Gizmodo, the regular price of $1,199 for a 13 inch MacBook Pro has now been dropped to $1,099 and other models, like the 15 inch model. have been dropped in price by $120 ($1,799 to $1,679). The price drop comes amid swirling rumors that Apple is getting ready to drop a brand new version of the MacBook Pro that will be a significant update to the existing model.
The next generation MacBook Pro has been suggested to incorporate a Retina Display, a thinner form factor and, surprisingly enough, is expected to ditch the optical drive. Depending on your inclination, you may wish to pick up one of the existing models at a cheap rate, or wait for one of the new ones around WWDC in June.
