Apple has officially announced the latest version of the iPhone…the iPhone 4S. The new iPhone looks exactly like the existing model of iPhone but has a revamped interior and packs an extra punch over the iPhone 4 in several areas.
The new device utilizes the A5 processor, previously found in the iPad 2, and shows dramatically increased graphics performance, up to 7x that of the iPhone 4. The new battery in the iPhone 4S offers up to 8 hours of talktime and 3G connectivity and up to 40 hours of music. In addition, Apple has revamped the external antenna to offer intelligent antenna switching and increased download speeds of up to twice as fast as the previous model (4G download speeds depending on your viewpoint). The new iPhone is also a ‘world phone’ in that it is both GSM and CDMA compatible.
Apple has also integrated an 8 megapixel camera into the new iPhone which offer 3264×2448 pixel photos, together with a revamped sensor system and 33% faster capture rate. The iPhone 4S can capture 1080p video and offers image stabilization and better color accuracy.
The new iPhone 4S also offers impressive voice control via Siri technology and a new feature called Assistant. The new technology sees the iPhone integrate voice control and user experience more than ever before.
Pre-orders for the new device will start on October 7th, with the launch taking place on October 14th. It will be priced at $199, $299 and $399 for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB respectively.
One more thing – as well as being offered on AT&T and Verizon in the US, the iPhone is also coming to Sprint.
