Following on from yesterday’s report which described how Apple had added a new version of the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch to their internal inventory system, 9to5Mac is now reporting that the highly anticipated iPhone codenamed N94 has now appeared in Apple’s own internal inventory. The new N94 device is the one that expected to be either the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5, a subject which has elicited furious debate amongst the media and tech press. While some say that the device will be called the iPhone 4S, an equally strong contingent is suggesting an iPhone 5.
The new device, reportedly sporting an 8 megapixel camera, 1 GB RAM and A5 processor, will likely be a GSM / CDMA hybrid model and is expected to be announced at the event on October 4th. While the mockup render above suggests that the new iPhone will have a revamped design with tapered edges, there is still a huge amount of uncertainty about what the new device will look like.
Taking strong design notes from the iPad and iPad 2, the new device may or may not be the one that will be presented by Apple on October 4th. Until that time, Apple’s phenomenal security measures keep everybody guessing.
