A new picture has been published by MIC Gadget and 9to5Mac which allegedly shows iPhone 5 screens being inspected by workers at a Wintek manufacturing plant. The pictures appear to show a slightly redesigned screen with an elongated, and perhaps touch capacitive Home button.
While the source of the picture is unclear, and even the subject of the picture is a little blurry, the picture is consistent with some recent rumors suggesting that the iPhone will have an elongated Home button, perhaps incorporating some new gestures (mockups here). The possibility of a redesigned Home button appeared several months ago when it was rumored that Apple may be introducing new gestures to the button for improved user interaction. Now, these images look like it may actually be happening.
