Apple today released individual iWork apps, Pages, Numbers and Keynote, for iPhone and iPod Touch, bringing the programs to the full range of iOS devices (via MacRumors). Similar to the apps on the Mac, the iOS apps themselves retail for $9.99 each and are available on the App Store now. The press release can be found here.
Apple have been rumored to be working on iWork apps for iPhone and iPod Touch since last year. The apps are compatible with the majority of iOS devices including the iPod Touch (3rd and 4th Generation), the iPad (iPad 1 and iPad 2) and the iPhone (3GS and iPhone 4). Notably, the iPhone 3G is missing which indicates that the software requires a little more processing power than the aging device can offer.
Given the potentially significant iCloud offering which Apple is about to launch at WWDC on June 6-10, it will be interesting if large components of iWork across various platforms will be enabled or updated in the near future to take advantage of iCloud document syncing. Apple currently offers document sharing through iWork.com (beta) but it is still unclear if the iCloud domain will support other application formats other than audio.
