An excellent nugget of news reported by 9to5Mac suggests that the long awaited and long delayed white iPhone 4 will actually appear this Spring. Apple’s SVP of Marketing, Phil Schiller, apparently confirmed the news via Twitter that the white iPhone 4 would be made available in Spring and referred to it as ‘a beauty’. However, it is not clear yet if the white iPhone 4 would be available on both the Verizon and AT&T networks. The launch of the white iPad 2 suggested that Apple had managed to overcome the problems that had plagued the launch of the white iPhone 4, which ranged from color mismatches with the Home button and white front panel, to light bleeding causing problems with the camera sensor. Neither of these problems were confirmed by Apple but apparently they have been sorted if a white iPhone 4 is on it’s way. Previous reports from an analyst had suggested that the white iPhone 4 would launch in April. That analyst is no doubt smiling this morning.
A white iPhone 4 would also lend support to the thought that the iPhone 5 would come in black and white as well – unless the evolution of the device moves towards aluminum design.
