It was announced today that Best Buy retail stores will be carrying the Verizon iPhone 4 starting on the launch day of February 10th, the same day that it is due to become available in Verizon and Apple retail stores. This confirms rumors and sightings of the Verizon iPhone in Best Buy’s inventory system. The Verizon iPhone 4 will retail for the same price in Best Buy as everywhere else ($199 for the 16GB model and $299 for 32GB). Customers who are eligible for upgrade will also be able to purchase their Verizon iPhones at Best Buy.
The Verizon iPhone will be available for pre-order beginning tomorrow, February 3rd, at 3am. While the iPhone 5 is only months away, the Verizon iPhone is still expected to be wildly popular given that the iPhone has historically been limited to the AT&T network up until now.
AT&T have apparently been engaging in some rather interesting last-minute techniques in order to prevent customers from switching to the Verizon iPhone. This leak, published by BGR, shows that Best Buy was apparently getting in on the action but this was unconfirmed.
Thanks to nice PR lady Molly for letting us know.
